1. The Georgian Technical University has a century of history

The Georgian Technical University is the first institution of the engineering education not only in Georgia, but also in the South Caucasus region. The Georgian Technical University (former Georgian Polytechnical Institute) was founded in 1922, since that time, the contribution of the university graduates in the formation of the region’s economy and public consciousness is very important, and contribution of the Georgian Technical University in the development of engineering and technical sciences is invaluable.

2. The Georgian Technical University played a crucial role in launching the first Georgian space object into orbit

Thanks to the Institute of Space Structures of Georgian Technical University the first Georgian space object - Reflector was put into orbit on July 23, 1999. This was the beginning of a new technologies in the World Cosmonautics.

The partners of the Georgian Technical University are: European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK), Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Universities of California, Yale, Bern, Glasgow and other Universities.

A group of physicists from the Institute of Quantum Physics and Engineering Technologies of the Georgian Technical University is participating in the CMS collaboration, which is one of 4 main experiments on the CERN for Hadron Collider. It was in our country that, as a result of many years of work, the most difficult 3D construction for studying elementary particles was created.

5. The Georgian Technical University has an unique IT Laboratory in the region

In case of choosing specialty of Food Technologies, students will pass the French module and will receive the Diploma of the French University together with the Diploma of Georgian Technical University. The German-language logistics educational program of the Faculty of Transportation and Mechanical Engineering also provides two diplomas and is fully funded by the DAAD. In cooperation with the San Diego University, students can obtain an American Bachelor’s degree in Georgia. In addition, through Erasmus+ and other exchange programs, honors students have the opportunity to continue their studies in Europe for free.
